The law of negotiable instruments is a complex and interesting subject that has been described as notoriously difficult. This publication has been written to guide students as well practitioners towards an understanding of the subject as a whole. Part One of the book sets out in a clear, straightforward and coherent manner the main principles underlying the law of negotiable instruments, with the emphasis on cheques and promissory notes - the two instruments governed by the Act that are most widely used in practice. Part Two contains the text of the Bills of Exchange Act 34 of 1964 (as amended) together with a commentary on each Section.
