Calculations for Health and Social Care

Financial constraints mean that there is a need for those students studying health and social care to understand basic budgeting, percentage returns, statistics, costing and the keeping of accounts. With the introduction of purchaser/provider contracts, there is also an increased emphasis being placed by professionals on statistics and other calculations. The text provides explanations of all the numeracy skills required by those taking GNVQs in Health and Social Care at intermediate and advanced levels. Each area covered is illustrated with an example from the field and there are tests and exercises throughout. Some of the chapters are particularly of relevance to nurses.
