This compact (256 pages) guide is written by a long-time resident of "Sin City", a much-respected journalist with a trained eye for top values and remarkable bargains, comfortable hotels and delightful meals, both on and off "The Strip". He wittily describes the gambling hereabouts, but also the options for visitors with less interest in gambling: the theaters, museums, stores and attractions, the out-of-town visits, and the nearby natural wonders.

Rick Garman began visiting Las Vegas as soon as he was old enough to not be barred from doing so by pesky things like laws. He has been writing about the city for over fifteen years, when he co-authored Frommer's Las Vegas with his best friend, Mary Herczog. He went on to create Vegas4Visitors.com, one of the most respected Las Vegas travel resources on the Web, and has appeared in various outlets as a self-proclaimed Vegas expert, although much of that expertise has been gained sitting at a slot machine with a glazed look in his eye while mumbling incoherently to himself. Rick was honored to return to the Frommer fold in 2010 after Mary passed away after a long struggle with breast cancer. He dedicates this book to her memory. Rick splits his time between Los Angeles, CA and Las Vegas, NV.
