This is the first concordance to the work known as the Heptateuch by the poet Cyprianus, probably a native of Gaul. For the most part his paraphrase of the historical books of the Old Testament, which has come down to us incomplete, closely follows the text of the Bible and is based on a pre-Vulgate translation. The concordance is intended, like those already published for Juvencus, Sedulius and Marius Claudius Victor, to provide a useful working tool for the study of Latin Biblical epic. A lemmatized KWIC index lists word-forms from the text, sorted alphabetically by keyword. These forms are set in the context of at least two lines, so that syntactical and semantic relationships remain clearly recognisable. The following text is also arranged alphabetically, making it easier to find linguistic formulae and collocations. The concordance also records the absolute and relative frequency of different words, along with other statistical data.
The basis for the work is the edition by Rudolfus Peiper (Cypriani Galli poetae Heptateuchos, rec. et comm. crit. instr. Rudolfus Peiper = CSEL XXIII, 1891)
