Biocatalysis

The first section of this book covers catalyst creation through applied microbiology, transgenic organisms and catalytic antibodies and relates it to practical problems. The second section focuses on manipulating existing biocatalytic enzymes and pathways to enhance catalytic stability or efficiency, and is illustrated with examples from industry. The third section details how to modify and optimize biocatalyst reaction conditions, using detailed examples. The text is written in such a fashion that it can be used as a course book for upper-level undergraduates, or as a reference for graduate students and PhD organic chemists, enzymologists and molecular biologists in academia and industry.
