This volume derives from lectures given at the University of Virginia by four business ethicists: Norman Bowie, Kenneth Goodpaster, Thomas Donaldson and Ezra Bowen. After the lectures were delivered, a number of scholars were invited to write papers developing ideas introduced by the lecturers. This book is organized into four parts, each using a lecture as its basis, and followed by the invited papers. The essays examine business ethics as an academic discipline, corporate leadership, multinational corporate responsibility and further responsibilities and applications of business.
