Richard Fox is an avid cyclist, hiker, boater, golfer, disc golfer, and nature lover, which makes the Pender Islands the perfect place for him to write about. As a seasonal resident for many years, he explored every nook and cranny to come up with this single source of information for the use of Pender Islanders and visitors. His 25-year career as an environmental and water resources consultant included writing or editing hundreds of scientific reports, and this Handbook was his segue into writing travel guidebooks, followed by enCYCLEpedia Southern California - The Best Easy Scenic Bike Rides (2014). Fox was a regular fixture at the Pender Islands Farmers Market for some ten years, and was thrilled to co-produce the imaginative Fall Fair parade floats for the Pender Island Power and Sail Squadron twelve times and counting.
