Charities are governed by a welter of regulations and there is a great deal of uncertainty about charitable status and a range of day-to-day issues in the management of charities. This text addresses these issues in a practical manner, focusing less on the source of law (although the text is fully referenced) and more on the impact of charity law on crucial areas of decision making. The book is thematic in its approach in order to assist charity executives and their legal advisers to chart the limitations on their powers and the scope of their duties as the issues arise. The philosophy of this first edition is to set a model for future edition which will follow the regulatory "sea change" as closely as possible to provide the voluntary sector with a current guide to its law.
