Bryan Forbes has played a major part in film-making in the past decades, and he gives us rare insights into the industry, including an account of his turbulent years as head of production for EMI at Elstree. He also includes accounts of the friendships he has made along the way: he writes with compassion and humour of friends such as Peter Sellers, Katharine Hepburn, Elton John and Bette Davis, to name but a few. He tells us of his happiness with his family, and also of his near-fatal illness.
