Melinda J. Flegel is the head athletic trainer at the University of Illinois SportWell Centre, where she oversees sports medicine care for recreational and club sport athletes. She was co-ordinator of outreach services at the Great Plains Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre in Peoria, Illinois, where she assisted coaches at 15 schools to provide first aid for their athletes. Flegel is a certified athletic trainer and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association in the USA. She is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
