Developed by Reinhard Flatischler in 1970, TaKeTiNa is a comprehensive method for learning and understanding rhythm. TaKeTiNa conveys: a profound rhythmic body control,
the experience of the original knowledge of rhythm or archetypes of rhythm,
rhythmic competence and creativity in all musical styles,
a natural rhythmic orientation which makes it possible to improvise in all European and non-European rhythms,
deep relaxation,
personality development by transferring rhythm patterns to life, relationships and group processes In the book, based on autobiographical experiences with master drummers from all over the world, the author describes how the method has been developed, how it is structured and how it can be learnt. Focussing on rhythmic (in most cases combined) movements of the feet, hands (clapping) and voice, the method also uses drums and other rhythm instruments. The TaKeTiNa Explorer on the attached DVD enables the users to perceive rhythms visually and acoustically and program their own rhythms - from simple to very complex patterns. In addition, the DVD contains videos on the TaKeTiNa work. TaKeTiNa offers a theory and methodology of rhythm for the people of today - for musical amateurs and professional musicians as well as for music therapists, social educators and managers. Reinhard Flatischler was born in Austria and successfully holds TaKeTiNa workshops and performances in America, Germany, Austria, etc. throughout the entire year. Also available: Megadrums-CDs [1] by Reinhard Flatischler on the label Intuition. Rhythm for Evolution - The TaKeTiNa Rhythm Book by Reinhard Flatischler was awarded the Comenius Medal 2006. With the Comenius EduMedia Awards, the Society for Education and Informatics (GPI) supports didactic multimedia products and educational media which are of particularly great value as regards education, content as well as layout and design.
