The book examines the building, mosaics, objects, and mosaic inscriptions found at the site of a sixth-century monastery at Beth-Shan. The mosaic floors are described in particular detail, with reference to comparable mosaics elsewhere in Palestine. Translations are given of the inscriptions within the mosaics.
