Eurostat Yearbook: A Statistical Eye on Europe, 1987-1997

This text offers a comprehensive overview of social and economic conditions in all the member states of the European Union and other European countries (in particular the EFTA states), as well as the United States, Canada and Japan. The yearbook includes a political and economic calendar of the European Union, explanations of statistical expressions, subject index and order form for Eurostat publications. The yearbook is intended mainly for European policy-makers, however, it also offers information that should have a wider appeal. The five chapters discuss people, land and environment, national economy, trade and industry, and the European Union.
