The Agricultural Situation in the European Union 1999

Presented in two parts, the first section of this report introduces the agricultural situation and the year's out-turn for the European Union. The economic situation, the trends in principal markets, issues affecting rural development, financing of the common agricultural policy and external trade relations are also discussed. The second part of the report provides the main statistics on European Union agriculture, with the data being supplied by the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In addition, the report contains updates of the tables produced in previous reports.
