Children in schools in developed countries come from culturally diverse backgrounds. They may relate harmoniously or in a hostile way to each other and reflect inequalities in society as a whole. Through the study of nine, culturally diverse secondary schools, their staff and organization, structures and interactive processes, the authors show how the quality of relationships within schools can be influenced, taking into account policy and procedural practices.
