Color Atlas of Histology

Intended to help medical, dental, and other health science students review histology, cell biology and microscopic anatomy in the laboratory section of their courses, this atlas employs over 500 illustrations of cells, tissues and organs, as revealed by light and electron microscopy, along with co-ordinated drawings. Designed to emphasize structural and functional relationships, each group of illustrations is organized in a logical sequence so that the student can easily group the composition and structure of the material. A typical sequence includes an overview of orientation drawing, a macrophotograph, a series of light micrographs at increasing magnification, scanning electron micrographs at low and high magnification to reveal the three dimensional structure, and illustrations showing both light and transmission electron micrographs to allow for the comparison of ultrastructure. Each illustration is accompanied by a full descriptive legend and identifying labels as appropriate.
