The Quest

(an excerpt) Wrong Like a drug poisoning your mind The high is infectious but the result is unkind You know it's bad and you hate the feeling And after each time you want to scrape the ceiling You lose more and more of your self each time Your soul once a dollar now just a dime Ungodly and unsanitary For how long could you stand to carry Around this secret so heavy and deep The guilt eats you up in your sleep But addictive it is none the less The lines in your face will show the stress And one day you wont run or hide Translucent you've become, for all to see inside
