These proceedings comprise refereed tutorials, invited papers and contributed papers from the confrence, divided into two volumes. For the first time the MICRO conference has been published as a fill set. Volume One contains papers which concentrate on the physical aspects of electron microscopy covering all the major techniques of electron microscopy: SEM, STEM, EDX and EELS and the microscopy of different materials: metals, non-metals and semiconductors. Volume Two contains papers of relevance to biological microscopy covering flow cytometry, fluorescence, confocal and 3D imaging, cryotechniques, microwave, IR and UV techniques, image processing and elemtal analysis. Both volumes contain the papers presented on new developments in instrumentation.
They will be a vital reference for researchers in physics, materials science, biology, chemistry and instrumentation, and should be found in all libraries and research laboratories with an interest in electron microscopy.
