Theme and Improvisation

Through his writing and his art, Vassily Kandinsky crossed boundaries of style, approach and geography to have a tremendous impact on many of America's finest 20th-century artists. This book looks at this influence in the works of 37 American artists, from Marsden to Hartley and Georgia O'Keffe to abstract expressionists such as Hans Hofmann and Jackson Pollack.
