Minerals (Oxides of Type M3O4)

Part of an encyclopaedic reference on inorganic and organometallic chemistry, this volume describes oxidic Mn minerals of the type M304 (galaxite, franklinite, jacobsite, manganochromite, vuorelainenite, iwakiite, marokite and filipstadite). Crystallographic data, physical properties and the chemical and thermal behaviour are discussed with emphasis placed on the various aspects of occurrence and genesis, and their influence on the chemical composition of the minerals. Ferrite spinels (magnetite, ulvoespinel and magnesioferrite) containing at least 1% Mn are covered in an abbreviated format.
