Political education in the context of political science is of interest because political science is essential as a leading science and can certainly be expanded. Subject-specific scientific knowledge is necessary as a process of communicating political facts and findings. The study refers to the examination of content that is relevant for contemporary political education. As early as 1980, Anton Pelinka outlined models, principles and their application, forms of organization, possibilities and limitations in a contribution by the Institute of Educational Science at the University of Innsbruck on "Political Education in Schools". From today's perspective, it is about basic knowledge that includes an overall view of the subject of political education. Accordingly, it deals with political concepts, democracy, multi-party and single-party systems, elections, public opinion, party systems, associations and bureaucracy, international conflicts and their prevention, international organizations, foreign policy and the history of political ideas.
