It provides practical advice and examples based on experience from practising DSO managers and concentrates on areas which may need improvements eg productivity and operational methods. Business planning is a highly topical issue in local government - business plans are seen as the key to improving service planning, service delivery, value for money and are emphasized by organizations such as the Audit Commission.
