In addition to an avid golfer and stage IV bladder cancer survivor, Doug deGrood has been a fixture in the Minneapolis advertising community for going on three decades. A copywriter and creative director, he was one of the founding partners of boutique agency Gabriel deGrood Bendt. This is his first published work, unless you count the hundreds of ads he's created.DeGrood lives in Edina, Minnesota, with his wife, Michaelanne. Together, they have three adult children; Harry, Charlie, and Gigi; an old black cat named Alice; and a pug dog named Birdie. He is a member of the Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, where he recently served as the club's grounds chairperson and president.
