As both a writer and a therapist I really endorse this fun, story-led voyage through the ups and downs of our emotional life. Sparky dialogue and dynamic illustration bring the adventure we all face to vivid life." -- - Julian Sedgwick, Author and Therapist "The Emotoneers are a caring and courageous bunch, whose adventures through the Emotosphere will help children and their carers understand feelings and what to do with them. Russ Daff is a Cambridge-based comic artist/writer with a passion for good old-fashioned story telling. Russ has been a freelance children's book illustrator for over 20 years, working with clients including Macmillan, Oxford University Press, Scholastic and Harper Collins.
From a young age Russ's imagination knew no bounds and was fed on all the good stuff from the late 1970s: Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Dr Who and Astrix. Then into the 1980s: Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Labyrinth and Battle of the Planets.
Russ's ability to draw cartoon characters of the day proved a great social icebreaker. To the point where his classmates would ask him to decorate their pencil cases with the latest craze... be it Snoopy, Garfield or Dangermouse.
Russ continues to follow and create comics today and has his finger on the pulse of kids' interests, while introducing kids to influences from retro British comics. His love of cartooning and storytelling have found their apex in Tales of the Emotosphere.
Dr Susannah Redhead qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2010. She's mainly worked in the NHS since then, with those with mental health issues, physical health problems and learning disabilities.
She is passionate about getting evidence-based psychology skills out there, not just to those who are struggling, but to everyone. She loves getting creative to help communicate psychological ideas, so when there are star dragons and space aurora involved, so much the better!
Susannah lives and works near Cambridge, UK and spends as much time as possible outdoors. For Susannah, influences on Tales of the Emotosphere include Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, the collective works of David Bowie and a love of funk music.
Susannah is registered with the Health Care Professions Council and received regular clinical supervision from a clinical psychologist working with children.
