This book deals with post-Statute of the City master plans, with the aim of showing how the guidelines of the Statute of the City are being incorporated into the urban planning of municipalities. This is exploratory research and a qualitative-descriptive diagnosis of the subject, from an interpretivist perspective. The author presents the dimensions of urban policy; urban planning and management; and the regulation of urban occupation and expansion found in the plans. He proposes the inclusion of a strategic dimension, the creation of a management system geared towards governance and the creation of structures to support urban planning and management. It draws attention to the need for a better understanding of the various aspects involving master plans, with a view to promoting sustainable urban development.
