This text offers an examination of the work that Picasso produced in the print medium, and aims to provide an understanding of some of his most significant themes and ideas. The numerous etchings, lithographs, linocuts, engravings and aquatints that he produceed throughout his career illustrate many of the themes central to his artistic vision. This book presents a selection of the artist's prints - works drawn from the collection of German art historian Dr Peter Ludwig. Aldo Crommelynck, the only printmaker still alive to have worked with Picasso, contributes an essay on the artist's original printmaking techniques. The book also focuses on Picasso's iconography, and examines the work from the perspective of recent intellectual currents.
