Paul Cookson was born and brought up in Lancashire. He published his first selection of poems in 1978. Since then he has published over fifteen solo collections for both adults and children under his own imprint A Twist In The Tale. Since 1989 he has worked as a poet, performing in venues throughout the country and is constantly in demand for school visits, of which he has made over a thousand. Paul has recently emerged as a leading editor of anthologies for children. He now lives in Retford, Nottinghamshire with his wife, Sally, son Sam, and daughter Daisy.
