Report of the Commonwealth Civil Society Meeting on Development and Democracy, Abuja, Nigeria,1-3 December 2003

Between 1 and 3 December 2003 more than 70 civil society representatives from across the Commonwealth met in Abuja, Nigeria for the Commonwealth Foundation's Civil Society Meeting on Development and Democracy. The aim of the meeting was to develop strategies for actions to be taken by civil society organisations (CSOs) so that they might maximize their contribution to development and democracy; and strategies to enable governments to become more responsive and accountable to citizens and their organisations.
