Byard, AO PSM, holds the Marks Chair of Pathology at The University of Adelaide and is a senior specialist forensic pathologist at Forensic Science SA in Adelaide, Australia. He has published over 600 papers and book chapters dealing with topics in forensic pathology, in addition to texts on Sudden Death in the Young, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and an Encyclopedia of Forensic and Legal Medicine. He is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Forensic Science Medicine and Pathology.
