Ronny J. Coleman is currently the State Fire Marshal for the State of California. He also serves as a chief deputy director for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Most of his career has revolved around training and education. Early on in his career Chief Coleman participated in the development of UCLA research project entitled: "Study of a Fireman's Occupation." This resulted in his involvement in the creation of the state's first Master Plan of Training and Education. He currently oversees the California Fire Academy and certifies individuals who complete the process outlined in that plan.
