'The Stag' follows the life of a young deer who goes through seasons of shedding and regrowing his antlers; each time the antlers regrow, they become bigger and stronger, and so their repetitive loss becomes harder to bear. Deer encounters tall cliffs and fierce lions, harsh winters and soft songs. The story shares subtle insight into the sociology of forest animals, the biology of antlers, and the psychology of seasonal affective disorder, while taking the reader on an emotional journey of hope and compassion.
