The UNIX Text Processing System

This volume covers all of the Unix text processing tools together with the powerful Unix processing system and emphasizes the most useful features. A clear description of the VI editor is provided and the pictorial dialogues make it easier for a novice to understand VI, which is the most widely used Unix text editor. Emphasis is placed on -ms and -mm macro packages, covering the four most common preprocessors (which give the Unix text formatting system its power and flexibility), and includes appendixes summarizing the key commands of the Unix text processing system: VI command reference, troff symbols reference, -ms and-mm command summary. Descriptions are clarified and enhanced by numerous examples.
