USUAL narrates in a simple rhyme the experiences of many kids on the autism spectrum as they navigate social and behavioral challenges in life and in school. The story explains- in simple language that any young child can understand -why children on the spectrum may react in unusual ways to specific sounds, sights, tastes, textures, and the sense of isolation that they may experience as a result. This story is a chid-friendly tool to help neurotypical children attain a better understanding and acceptance of youngsters on the spectrum.
