HDR Video Compression

Academic research into HDR video started to progress with the appearance of the first video cameras capable of capturing more than LDR content. While the main activity of the sector is focused on the creation of technology for the mass market, there is a distinct lack of professional solutions able to deal with HDR video content in live production. With the failure of 3D TV and inability of 4K to attract substantial consumer attention, by itself, industrial activity has "exploded."


The time is right for a book on HDR video compression to bring both the academic and industrial communities together, to the mutual benefit of each other, providing the bridge in knowledge between academic in-depth research and industrial need.
