Fibromyalgia Syndrome

Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a relatively new condition that was only officially recognised and classified as a diagnosable condition in 1991, yet it is estimated that it is the second commonest condition now seen in chronic pain clinics (low back pain being the most common.) Because of the wide variety of presenting symptoms many different clinicians and therapists may become involved in the treatment and management of these patients yet at present there is no book on the subject that covers all of the issues of concern to the professions involved. This book will fill that gap. It gives a guide to the diagnosis and management of fibromyalgia syndrome for use by the different groups of clinicians who become involved in the care of those suffering from the condition. It also features contributions from clinical experts in their relevant fields, e.g., electoacupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy.
