Gary Cavanagh was born in Clayton, Bradford and is founder member of Bradford's 1 in 12 Club. He has worked as a former university tutor in history and politics and a local historian and archivist. Cavanagh has been involved in the local music scene since the 1970s and was instrumental in the production of the 1 in 12 compilation LP series. He was former vocalist with legendary local rock gods Phobia and is the co-author of three volumes called 'Bradford's Noise of the Valleys', an extensive history of rock and pop music in the city.
