This first volume of two contributes to the mutual knowledge of the diverse training given in different countries of the Union. Information is provided which will enable teachers and trainers to organize visits or training periods in other countries and aims to promote their mobility within the European Union. Vocational training institutions will be better able to identify potential partners for research and development projects. Policy makers should find the comparable information useful in the development of training programmes for the future.
