The story takes its bearings from the Niger Delta region of Nigeria where belief in the afterlife and reincarnation is taken for granted. The principal characters, a happily married Ziboere and a single Layefa 'accidentally' meet at a function as mere strangers but quickly realize through a time travel like sequence of events that they were actually soul mates linking up again after hundreds of years-for a definite purpose.
