Project Leadership

In the changing world of project management, there seems to be less concern with planning and control and more with the management of people and a growing tendency to use projects as a mechanism for creating change. The net result has been the emergence of a new role, that of project leader. Over a number of years the authors of this book have worked with the new breed of project leaders, both as consultants and on their training course "Leading Projects Efficiently". They have also studied the many ways in which projects are being used in activities as diverse as manufacturing, financial services, retailing, entertaining and politics. Their book concentrates on the personal skills required for project leadership, including an awareness of the organizational context and the political dimensions. The book ends with an "action summary" and a guide to further sources of development.
