J. M. Briceño Guerrero (1929-2014) is a Venezuelan poet and philosopher. He obtained his PhD in Philosophy and Philology in Vienna and worked for many years as a Professor at the Universidad de Los Andes (Mérida). His many publications were awarded national prizes in Venezuela and were internationally recognized by UNESCO. Translations of his work are available in French and German, and numerous groups of scholars and loving readers preserve his legacy by promoting the study of Latin American thought and of Classical and modern languages.
