This book is intended for neurologists in training and in practice who need an authoritative source of practical information about the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders in adults and children. The book may also be useful to trainee and practising general physicians, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, family practitioners, medical students and investigation in the neurosciences. The text is divided into five parts. The first sets out a novel symptom-oriented approach to the common presenting features of neurological disease. Parts 2 and 3 describe the laboratory tests and expert consultations that may be required, including neuroimaging, clinical neurophysiology, neuroimmunology, neurovirology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuropharmacology, neurosurgery, and neurorehabilitation. The final two parts present principles of management and detail their features, anatomy, pathophyisology, biochemistry, etiology, epidemiology, tests, management and prognosis. Illustrations and tables are abundant throughout and the selected references provide easy access to the world literature on each subject.
