After qualifying Maureen Boyle worked as a midwife at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington in London, until completing the Advanced Diploma in Midwifery at the Royal College of Midwives in 1988 and the Post Graduate Certificate in Education of Adults at the University of Surrey in 1991.
