A Waterfront City

This teaching kit provides a variety of resources for teaching a wide range of geographical skills as well as introducing children to a specific English locality as specified in AT2 of the National Curriculum. The pack comprises: A 32-page full-colour children's storybook on the adventures of a child who lives in Plymouth today. The storyline will see the child through a collection of disasters and delights while subtly, through the use of the story and illustrations, introducing the reader to the physical and human geography of the area. A 192-page structured teaching programme contains geographical background information, step-by-step lesson plans, photocopiable activities, homework and assessment sheets plus valuable record, pupil and curriculum development sheets. The pack will be divided into specific lesson plan sections, including: landscape, water, weather, people, settlement, transport, industry and environment.
