Virtual Private Networks

Virtual Private Networks are a variety of technologies that take advantage of the Internet to replace private networks and create a tunnel in the Internet that allows data to be moved in a secure channel. This work provides information on the different options for creating and building a VPN. It includes: planning for VPN; VPN selection; layer 2 VPNs and forwarding; tunnelling protocol; layer 3 VPNs; Ipsec; layer 5 VPN; and firewall integrated and application VPN.
