Dorothy Blake, M.A., M.D., author and self-styled haiku apprentice, captures the immediacy of the form while expressing enduring themes of nature: continuity within the change and flow of the seasons. A Shower of All My Days continues some of the themes of her earlier work, Seanotes, where, with the sea as metaphor, she describes the circularity of the life voyage. But, Blake admits, "even if I ran/Time's faster feet outrun mine" and the adventure continues. These poems are a dialogue with all those who would like to use or have mastered the haiku form as a way of expressing Truth.
