The Worst Desert on Earth

Charles Blackmore tells here how he crossed the Taklamakan Desert with 30 camels and a mixed party of British, Chinese and Uighurs. The first crossing, it reflected the Chinese view of it as "the desert of death" and as one where "you go in but you never come out". This party triumphed.
