The book provides concise coverage of the pathogenic agents, bacterial, fungal, and viral, recognized as significant causes of animal disease. Emphasis is on microbial properties related to disease production and on disease manifestations. Unique features are the specific consideration given to organ systems as microbial habitats; to the defences of organ systems exposed to infectious hazards, and to the normal flora of such organ systems.
