The Wines of Languedoc-Roussillon

Languedoc-Roussillon covers a large region of southern France, from the Rhone to the Pyrenees. For many years its wines had a poor reputation and the over-production filled the European wine lake. Now, with attention to yields and new wine-making techniques, Languedoc-Roussillon is producing first rate wines from the traditional grapes of the region as well as from France's classic grapes - Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc.
