After tracing the changes in white attitudes which led to the 1967 amendment to the Constitution, the book examines those parts of the political system which have helped and hindered the Aboriginal people since then: the federal system, the major parties, the bureaucracies, the legal system, the wide variety of pressure groups, and the media.
