On the 30th September l955, James Dean and his mechanic Rolf Weutherlich, set out from Dean's house in Sherman Oaks in his new Porsche Spider, on their way to a race meeting. An hour later Dean was dead at the wheel of his car. This book attempts to present an account of the James Dean cult.
